Astrada disclosed alarming incidents that occurred during his journey in July 2022. One of the most significant issues was the sudden and rapid depletion of the submarine’s energy, plunging to nearly 40 percent. As per reports from the British newspaper « Daily Mail, » Astrada and his fellow passengers had to drastically reduce their planned four-hour dive to a mere one hour to ensure a safe return to the water’s surface before the submarine’s energy was fully drained.

Astrada further revealed in a YouTube video that the « Titan » suffered a troubling two-hour power outage during its costly $125,000 expedition. « After reaching a depth of one thousand meters, the submarine commander discovered a malfunction in the communication system. This was extremely dangerous, as it could have led to a complete loss of communication with the surface, potentially leaving us adrift and lost in the vast ocean. We were genuinely terrified, » Astrada recounted.
